I am a cultural entrepreneur specializing in the facilitation and promotion of creative enterprising in Nigeria. I am graduate of International Economics from Coventry University and is currently undergoing a postgraduate degree in Creative and Media Enterprise at the University of Warwick.
In 2008, I co-founded the CaliRock initiative which was a platform to educate and empower arts and culture in Cross River state. Calirocks recieved a grant from the Government of Cross River State which was used to build a stage for young fashion designers to showcase and market their talent in Calabar within the context of the annual Calabar carnival. In 2010, I worked for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in their Partnerships and Technical Cooperation Office (PATCO) as a project assistant and later as a research consultant for their Economic Development and NEPAD Division (EDND). In 2012, I started working with Gender and Development Action (GADA) to identify and support gender-focused creative entrepreneurship in Nigeria, I am currently working on raising funds for the “Clean Women” Soap Making Project.
I just concluded some work with the African Arts Institute in Cape Town as a project officer to support their efforts in the promotion of arts and culture in Africa. In this capacity, I has acted as the coordinator and co-facilitator of the Arts and Culture Department of the City of Cape Town’s ‘Arts and Culture Indaba’ - a public dialogue aimed at creativing a platfom for experts in the arts and cultrue sector of Cape Town to share exptertise, network and engage in high level discussions aimed at improving the arts and culture ecosystem of the City of Cape Town.
